What is Bardic Madness, and why should I plan to join in the Madness?
East to West, North to South, the Bardic arts are beloved across all of Northshield. Challenges for Bardic Madness XXIII will include many with the theme of "directions," in the many meanings of that word. Challenges will be arranged into four Fyts, with breaks for classes and fellowship between them, and a tasty feast during the last Fyt.
Bards of all sorts, whether song-smiths, poets, story-tellers, or instrumentalists are invited to attend and participate. Please peruse the challenges and allow your Muse to move in you to provide a bardic answer. Sign up sheets for each of the challenges will be available on site the morning of the event. A post-revel on site following the Fourth Fyt will allow for the performance of any piece your heart desires.
Patronage is also strongly encouraged – whether as a challenge patron or a casual audience member. Performers need audiences, so do join us to appreciate these talented gentles even if you are not inclined toward performance yourself.

From Hwy 13 North (from Hwy 29 from the West):Take exit #132/WI-13/Colby/Abbotsford, head South. Proceed approximately 20.8 miles. Turn right on Chestnut Avenue. Proceed two blocks to the corner of 3rd Street. Chestnut Avenue Center for the Arts is the old church building on your right; enter the building on the 3rd Street side.
From Hwy 97 North (from Hwy 29 from the East:)Turn Left on Hwy 97. As it enters Marshfield, Hwy 97 becomes Central Avenue, Marshfield’s long main street. Continue south on Central, past all the big-box stores and fast-food outlets. Stay on Central when 97 ends. When you cross the RR tracks go two blocks and turn right on 3rd Street. Go one block to the corner of Chestnut Avenue. Chestnut Avenue Center for the Arts is the old church building on corner; enter the building on the 3rd Street side.
From Hwy 10 East (from I39 from the South):Take exit #165/US-10 W/Marshfield onto US-10 W. Proceed approximately 17 miles. Watch for the new Hwy 13 routing, which comes about 2 miles sooner than it used to! Take the new Hwy 13 North (also called Veterans Parkway.) Turn left at Chestnut Avenue, it should be the third set of stoplights after entering town. Proceed two blocks to the corner of 3rd Street. Chestnut Avenue Center for the Arts is the old church building on your right; enter the building on the 3rd Street side.
To Baymont Inn and Suites from site:
Head one block West from site to Hwy 97, turn left. Follow Hwy 97 for 1.9 miles. Baymont Inn will be on the right side of the street.

Feast: $10 Feast requires pre-registration! If you wish to eat feast, preregistrations are due by April 1!
Merchant Fee: $10
Send checks payable to "SCA - Wisconsin, Inc.- Shire of Falcon's Keep" to: Mary Welker, 104 Florence St, Rothschild WI, 54474. Pre-registrations must be received no later than April 1, 2013.

Lodging options
We have a block of 20 rooms (single kings or two doubles) at the Baymont Inn, located at 2107 North Central Ave, Marshfield WI 54449; phone (715) 384-5240. The hotel block is under "SCA - Bardic Madness" Rooms must be reserved by April 3, 2013 or they will be released to the general public. Check in at 3PM, check out at noon. The block is set up for SATURDAY night, but if you mention that you are staying with the Saturday block, they will honor the same price on Friday as well.
One King - $50 per night
Two Doubles - $50 per night
